Perfect for blue and great tits, finches and sparrows. We think our black sunflower is probably the cleanest available in the UK.
We select high-quality black sunflower seed and we always super-clean the seed to remove as many stalks as possible so it's in peak condition when delivered to your door; however, it's near impossible to remove all the dry pieces of stalk but we always try our hardest to do so.
We purchase premium quality European black sunflower.
We do this to reduce the carbon (and product degradation) involved in shipping from further afield. Although there are crops of Black Sunflower in the UK we feel the European crop offers more consistent quality. UK crop is often affected by the weather and some sunflower growers have to support their yields with overseas crops.

I have to admit, I ordered these by mistake, as I normally order the husk free sunflower seeds ! However, the birds love these and don’t seem to mind the extra work of taking them out of their husks at all.

We have lots of Peacocks roaming around Corsham, and just love the Sunflower seeds, they come to me regularly for their daily Morning and afternoon snacks, and sit on my Balcot rails and look in my window until I feed them

So do Haiths polish each seed, seems like it they are so clean. I have bought them from here a few times and dont go anywhere else now. Trouble is blue tits etc get through them at such an alarming speed I now ration them. Do they stash as many as they eat?

I prefer the black sunflower seed because I find the white shelled seed seems to form a 'porridge' when it gets wet and a layer sets like concrete in the bottom of the feeder. The only downside is that one or two goldfinches seem to pull the black seed out of the feeder and throw it on the ground, I think they find the seed too hard and keep searching for something they can eat. The seed on the ground then attracts pigeons, mice and rats. However, the vast majority of the birds take the seed somewhere else to eat it and generally the pigeons hoover up anything on the ground before the rats get a chance!

I regularly buy your black Sunflower Seeds, and I always find them really clean and loved by most of the birds that come in the garden. My only problem is with the sack it comes in. They are shred easily and are unsuitable.
